This weekend, I planted some green stuff. I have absolutely no experience with planting or potting but have been admiring all of the beautiful flowers that are sprouting up around the neighborhood. Flowers just put me in a happy mood. Does this mean I’m getting older? Either way, I wanted to share some of the flowers and shrubs I potted over the weekend.
I also found that playing in dirt was surprisingly stress-relieving. Getting back to nature feels so good. Am I right?
This little guy helped me out. His name is Wallace and yes, he’s for hire. 🙂
Have a good week!
It was so beautiful this past weekend, Mike and I decided to travel to Georgetown, Maine, precisely Reid State Park. First of all, I just want to voice how excited I am that Maine hit the 50’s temperature range on Saturday. That’s a BIG deal, at least for me. To celebrate, we packed up the pups and took a drive north about an hour and landed in this beauty:
The rocky Maine coast is gorgeous. After a thrashing of a winter, it’s refreshing to explore the outdoors again. The pines are green and the water bluer than I remember.
We went to Reid State Park which is wonderfully preserved and a photographer’s dream come true. There are two primary beaches within the park. We visited the Mile Beach. The sand is smooth with big grains and white sea shells. It was so lovely, I didn’t want the day to end.
We walked around the entirety of the park and soaked up some much needed Vitamin D for a change. The pups had a good time as well, smelling shells and eating washed up seaweed. They also kept attempting to drink the ocean water and realizing it wasn’t to their liking. It was pretty entertaining for us humans.
If you ever visit Maine, I would highly recommend Reid State Park if you enjoy natural environments and being seaside! Hope you all had a great weekend as well!
It takes us approximately 23 minutes to drive from our downtown Portland apartment to Bradbury Mountain State Park. The hike up Bradbury Mountain is short and relaxing with only a mere 500 ft climb. After such a brief hike, you are rewarded graciously with cool air and pretty views. I wanted to share some photos from our most recent hike up Bradbury and give you a small taste of Maine.
These were taken September 2012 with my manual Pentax 35mm (w/ lots of unintentional light leaks).
